Asiyah – wife of Pharaoh
"The most excellent of the women of all worlds whom Allah chose over all women are: Asiya the wife of Pharaoh, Mary the daughter of Imran, Khadija the daughter of Khuwaylid, and Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad."
Asiya is considered to be one of four great, noble and pious women in Islam who were given the glad tidings of Paradise. She is mentioned in Qur’an as the wife of the tyrant ruler Pharaoh and the woman who found Moses (AS) in the River Nile. As the wife of Pharaoh, she possessed the riches, fame and power that came with being a queen, but Asiya’s (ra) money and power meant nothing to her when she banished her former life and discovered true happiness through belief in Allah (SWT). Learn about why Allah sent her as an example to Muslim women and how we can make sacrifices and adopt the characteristics of a woman of paradise.
